Tracking users across a session has always been an important thing in figuring out business success on the web. Technologies like flash and dhtml that can change content without refreshing the page are taking the world by storm. As things like Apollo and flex enhance this even further, website analytics becomes even more vital.

After working on projects that utilize Omniture and doing research on Google analytics here are some comparisons on the subject for both flash and dhtml/ajax type content.

Not all projects have complex data requirements, but as the “web 2.0″ trend of online applications grows and flash becomes used more for importing complicated sets of data or to represent complex sets of objects more complex methods for importing and transforming data.

Flash 8 continuously crashing on compile.

While working on a project I found that after a code change flash 8 would continuously crash after attempting to compile a swf. Taking a step back and looking deeper at the last code changes helped identify the problem.
